A resident of La Vergne was arrested in Lawrenceburg early Tuesday after he allegedly broke into a woman’s home and stole her cat.


Burglars targeted some storage units in Summertown last week, leaving the victim with a considerable monetary loss.

The Lawrence County Horse Club invites you to joins us at our next meeting. On November 3rd all 4th through 12th graders are welcome to learn about horses and have fun doing it. A crash that occurred on Ethridge Red Hill Road Sunday afternoon claimed the life of a Lawrence County man.


Local resident Ardeen Walters gave a presentation to the Lawrenceburg City Council Thursday morning on the Trail of Tears. For the past seventeen years Walters has dedicated much of his time to identify the route of the Trail of Tears through Lawrence County.

The 2014-2015 year for Lawrence County High School’s Virtual Enterprise Firm Alpha & Omega is off to a wonderful start! All employees were interviewed and placed into their respective positions and have been enjoying a busy year thus far! They have been learning the “ins and outs “of their positions and preparing for the Midwest Region Trade Fair in Pigeon Forge, TN this November. They are working diligently and are prepared for a successful business year!

Summertown High School's Future Business Leaders of America recently attended the Tennessee Titans Learning Lab at LP Field in Nashville, TN. The students learned about the "behind the scene" business aspect of what it takes to run an NFL team. The day consisted of a tour of LP Field as well as an opportunity to listen to presentations from various Titans Executives. As part of the event, students received tickets to attend the Titans vs Colts game on December 28th.

Local authorities contacted Tennessee Department of Agriculture officials on Friday after a Summertown resident reported for the fourth time that his dogs had been poisoned.


Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce officials announced Monday that Executive Director Daniel Webb will be stepping down from that position effective December 31.


The Tennessee Department of Forestry is reminding residents that burn permits are now required for any outdoor burning.

The Summertown High School Lady Eagles clinched victory last night and earned a spot in the TSSAA State Tournament. 


While getting ready for church on Sunday a Summertown resident discovered that burglars had broken a window in order to gain entry to her home.


Governor Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty announced Wednesday that Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds in the amount of $525,000 have been awarded to Lawrence County to be used for the purpose of waterline extensions.


Authorities are asking for the public’s help in the hopes of obtaining information regarding a recent series of suspicious fires in Lawrence County.

A pedestrian was arrested Sunday night after authorities were summoned to investigate burglaries to vehicles outside a Lawrenceburg apartment complex.


During a meeting Monday evening members of the Lawrence County Board of Commissioners approved a financial plan under which the county will operate throughout the 2014-2015 fiscal year.

An Ethridge woman is accused of filing a false police report last week in an attempt to obtain prescription medication.

A clerk at a Lawrenceburg store reported last week that two individuals came inside to create a distraction, then left with a third person without paying for gasoline.


Leoma 6th grade students have recently learned the results of the Americanism Essay Contest sponsored by the Loretto American Legion Ladies Auxilliary. Members of the Auxilliary are pictured with teacher Nicki Hartsfield and winners Eli Hartsfield (1st), Aaron Hopper ( 3rd) and Jamison Rhea (2nd). Eli's essay went on to win at the state level and has been entered into the National contest. Leoma School is very proud of each of these students for their hard work !


Police officials are seeking public assistance in an attempt to identify a woman who has recently passed counterfeit checks at Rite Aid in Lawrenceburg, as well as both the Summertown and Mt. Pleasant Super Rama stores.

LCHS Big Gold Machine band members won grand championships! First time in 23 years!


Authorities reported Wednesday afternoon that a local man had been arrested on charges of attempted first degree murder after entering a Fall River Road residence and assaulting a man with a wrench.


A lost wallet found at a Lawrenceburg restaurant led authorities to solve a crime that had occurred in Lincoln County and arrest a man wanted in Alabama.


Several individuals reported that bicycles had been stolen from outside their homes during the weekend.


Congratulations to the Loretto High School Band!  This past weekend Saturday, September 13, they performed at the Station Camp Marching Invitation in Gallatin Tennessee.  The Band, Color Guard and Percussion all won 1st place honors in their class.    The band director is Darrell Boston and the guard is instructed by Kalee Richardson.   Awesome job band.  Shown with their trophies are (L-R) Ethan Purser, Natasha Spurgeon, Emily Randolph, Alyssa Colman and Aaron Hunt.

Early this morning a car was traveling south and crashed into the cafeteria of Leoma Elementary School. Cafeteria employees were on campus but were not injured.
